Winks: The Wembley Atmosphere Is Really Different
Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Harry Winks stated that the atmosphere at Wembley Stadium was flat when the Spurs won 1-0 at Barnsley in the third round of the EFL Cup.
Spurs sold their tickets for just 5 pounds for their third consecutive game at home but only 23,926 spectators watched Dele Alli’s goal in the 65th minute.
That number is less than the pre-season match counter Juventus witnessed 26,251 fans, but the same as the audience at last season’s League Cup at White Hart Lane counter Gillingham, which is as many as 26,244 people.
Winks said to the media, “The stadium is huge. It’s hard to get the same atmosphere as White Hart Lane. ”
“But the fans are always amazing and for us they are brilliant in supporting us winning the fight.”
